Executive Director
Janice Watkins
I often joke that I “grew up” non-profit, as my late grandmother, Marg Roberts, was the
founding Executive Director of Let’s Help, Inc. Some of my earliest memories are of
volunteering with her serving lunch to the homeless and the steady drum of her voice,
often repeating that “nothing is impossible.” That ingrained belief led me to devote
nearly the entirety of my professional career to non-profit service and volunteerism. My
commitment to social service has now led me to Topeka Habitat for Humanity (THFH)
as the Executive Director.
I look forward to serving the mission of THFH and the continued growth of our
organization. With dedicated volunteers, a tremendously talented staff and a combined
drive to build not only houses, but the surrounding strength of our community, I truly
believe that “nothing is impossible.”
Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss THFH and our community
partnerships.

Habitat has always been an agency close to my heart, I volunteered for Habitat in high school and college. After college I went on to work at several non-profits and landed back at habitat.
I have a passion for Habitat’s mission and I love working with the volunteers and our partner families. It warms my heart to come to work every day with volunteers that are giving of themselves to improve the lives of others. We have lots of volunteer opportunities for all skill levels.
If you are interested in volunteering at the construction sites, the restore, in our administrative office or if you have some other skill that might benefit Topeka Habitat for Humanity please feel free to contact me.

Hello Topeka Habitat community. I am excited to join this organization. I have over 15 years of experience with construction and a lifetime of experience helping people.
Opportunity comes to those who risk stepping forward. Stepping into Habitat is definitely an opportunity. For me it's an opportunity to bring security and self worth to deserving people. Our habitat community has a rare blend of youth, successful professionals and elders who bless us with their generosity and talents.
We partner with three local high schools who build homes for our clients. We are in beginning stages of partnership with other schools. We regularly partner with the City of Topeka, local businesses, professional organizations and national corporations. All the while living our mission to provide affordable housing with a sense of honesty and decency. Who could ask for more?
